In a world that moves faster every day, there's something deeply restorative about slowing down. That's the philosophy at the heart of Mooch - a commitment to slow living, thoughtful design, and creating spaces that invite you to pause, breathe, and savour the everyday moments.
What is Slow Living?
Slow living isn't about doing everything at a snail's pace. It's about being intentional with your time, your choices, and the things you bring into your home. It's choosing quality over quantity, craftsmanship over convenience, and meaning over mass production.
For me, slow living means surrounding yourself with beautiful things that tell a story -pieces that were made by hand, designed with care, and built to last for generations.
Inspired by the Cotswolds
Living and working in the Cotswolds has shaped everything about Mooch. The rolling hills, the honey-coloured stone cottages, the hedgerows bursting with wildflowers - there's a timeless quality to this landscape that reminds you to slow down and appreciate beauty in its simplest forms.
The Cotswolds have always been a place where craftsmanship matters. From dry stone walls built centuries ago to traditional thatched roofs still maintained by skilled artisans, this is a region that values things made well and made to last.
That same ethos runs through every Mooch design. Each pattern we create is inspired by the natural world around us - the textures of bark and stone, the colours of dawn over the hills, the quiet elegance of a perfectly
My Grandmother's Influence
The seed of Mooch was planted long before I moved to the Cotswolds. My grandmother was extraordinary. She believed that the things you live with every day should bring you joy, and she taught me that a well-made cushion or a hand-embroidered tablecloth wasn't a luxury - it was an investment in your happiness.
She understood slow living before it had a name. She took time to choose linens that felt good against the skin, to create a home that was welcoming and full of forever pieces.
When I founded Mooch in 2023, I wanted to honour her and what she had taught to me. To create sleepwear and homeware that invites you to slow down, to notice the details, and to find beauty in the rituals of everyday life.
Handcrafted, Not Mass-Produced
Slow living and slow making go hand in hand. That's why every Mooch piece is hand-printed by our fabulous artisans in Jaipur using traditional block-printing techniques that have been passed down through generations.
This process takes time. A single cushion cover might require dozens of individual block impressions, each one carefully aligned and pressed by hand. But that time creates something special - textiles with character, depth, and the unmistakable mark of human hands.
When you choose block-printed homeware, you're choosing to slow down the cycle of consumption. You're investing in pieces that won't need replacing next season because they were made with care, designed to be timeless, and built to last.
Creating Spaces for Slow Living
Your home should be a sanctuary - a place where you can step away from the noise and reconnect with what matters. The textiles and homeware you choose play a bigger role in that than you might think.
Soft, natural fabrics invite you to linger over morning coffee. A beautifully set table encourages you to gather with loved ones. Thoughtfully chosen cushions and quilts transform a room into a space where you actually want to spend time.
At Mooch, we design with this in mind. Our hand-printed cottons are soft to the touch, our colours are soothing and timeless, and our patterns are inspired by nature - all chosen to create spaces that feel calm, grounded, and restorative.
Sustainability Through Slow Living
Slow living is inherently sustainable. When you buy less but choose better, when you invest in quality over quantity, when you care for the things you own so they last for years - you're making choices that are kinder to the planet.
Our partnership with artisans in Jaipur, our use of natural dyes and traditional techniques, our commitment to timeless design rather than fleeting trends - these aren't just aesthetic choices. They're part of a larger philosophy that values people, craft, and the environment.
An Invitation to Slow Down
Mooch isn't just about homeware. It's an invitation to slow down, to notice the beauty in everyday rituals, and to create a home that reflects your values.
It's about choosing a block-printed tablecloth over a disposable one, taking time to set a beautiful table, and savouring a meal with the people you love. It's about investing in a quilt that will last for decades rather than replacing cheap bedding every few years.
It's about bringing a little bit of the Cotswolds - and a little bit of slow living - into your home, wherever you are.
